PPC vs SEO – Which is better?

It has been debated for years about the pros and cons of pay per click marketing (PPC), compared to SEO optimization – with a lot of people who have strong views against both. It is a broad subject – too difficult to control completely in this article, but I will summarize the highlights and offer my views on the subject.

Some positive factors of pay per click

Fast results – usually you can start seeing results within hours (or maybe minutes) to start a marketing campaign

Pay only each time a visitor clicks

Reasonably easy to focus on the keywords you want

Not always need to change your website

Great ability to track (so it is easy to observe, measure, adjust and improve)

You can specify that users will (designating the landing page)

They are able to target specific regions or locations for your ad to appear

Get a profile page easily and quickly (but not necessarily low cost)

Pay per click can be an effective way of promoting a website (in particular, a new website). However, each time to stop spending, stop running ads, and traffic stops – is relatively lasting benefit to cost. PPC is relatively quick and easy to install – but it’s just as quick and easy for your competitors – if they have big budgets, which could ultimately win.

Whenever you are aware of how much a click is worth, and it is positive that the benefits outweigh the costs, pay per click can be extremely effective. You mind not for example, costs $ 2,000 (or more) each day, provided they obtain a higher income.

PPC is one of the few ways that you can quickly get new site in search results and start to generate traffic (and revenues), while long-term SEO techniques to produce the data generated from a campaign Pay Per Click (such as key phrases that are becoming) can also be a useful way to obtain data for an SEO campaign.

Benefits of SEO

Here are some of the benefits of search engine optimization:

Site visitors from natural search are free.

The positions of the search for a web site done through SEO can persist long after the effort has been made.

changes in pages (which are very likely to be necessary for SEO can help improve conversion rates, as well as traffic

In general most people click on natural search results (88%) compared to pay per click ads (12%), so you’ll probably get more traffic from organic results.

Users in general, I think the Natural search results have a higher level of “trust”

Of course, search engine optimization is not free – you need the effort and expense, usually over a long period. In some niches of demand that can be extremely difficult (or impossible) to achieve page 1 ranking, but in the majority of the niches is possible with relative ease and reasonable classification of traffic. As far as I’m concerned, the user must be at the center of the SEO techniques. Almost anything you do to make improvements to the end user experience is likely to improve its positioning and conversions (and in the long run, increase revenue / visits)

Both PPC and SEO have their advantages and disadvantages, depending on your specific goals, either (or maybe both) might be best for you.
