Guidelines
At MSN, the following techniques are avoided because you can affect the ranking or result in removal from the search engine index:
* Hidden text or hidden links
* Excessive use of ALT text
* Overload with words out of context
* Link farms or other techniques that artificially increase the number of links
Optimization
Specific optimization for MSN is not worth as a rule. Compared to Yahoo and Google can now relatively easily good results are achieved. This correlates significantly poorer search results may occur.
In the optimization of course play on MSN Off-page factors are involved, but the weighting of the on-page factors seem relatively high. Using simple techniques such as domain-wide backlinks, keyword spamming (ie, massive, unrelated use of key terms) in H1 headings, links and alt text, and a relatively high keyword density, can achieve good results.
